Imagine if you will a world where scared little girls can create powerful storms with their mind. On tonight’s episode of the Alicia Show, hurricane Barry, an odd coincidence or the forces of nature bending to the will of 5 year-old children to keep the real monsters at bay, monsters that would lock little girls in cages for being scared.
Scene: It’s late and night and the wind starts howling. Rain beats against the glass and thunder rumbles. The little girl is supposed to be sleeping, but the room she’s in is far too dark and stifling to feel safe in a storm this bad. Little girls shouldn’t be alone in storms anyway. There’s a nice lady sitting up in the big room and she makes the little girl coffee to keep her warm.
As she sits in a comfy chair, sipping her coffee, she sees a familiar face out in the storm. Staring into the window at the nurses’ station is the bad man, the man that locked the little girl in a cage. The hilarious thing is that while she is sitting there, right in front of the window, she sees him frantically scanning from left to right looking for the little girl. Even though she is frozen in fear after seeing him again after all these years, she has to laugh a little on the inside. How is it that she’s been hiding from this man most of her life, yet for some reason, she suddenly has the power to be invisible.
After a couple of minutes though, she starts to worry. How long can she keep this up, she thinks. She’s still too scared to run away and hide, and now wants to cry. In her tears, she stares at the bad man through the window and starts thinking about how funny it is that he is standing out in the storm looking for her while she is so safe and warm. All of a sudden, the wind picks up, thunder crashes, and the sky opens up. The little girl watches with astonishment as the bad man is picked up and carried away. She starts laughing, but stops suddenly when the nice lady says, “oh boy, it’s a hurricane outside!” “A hurricane,” she thought out loud, “that’s not possible.” “It’s named Barry,” said the nice lady. “Hmm,” the little girl said, “that makes sense because little girls can’t really create hurricanes with their mind, can they?” The little girl felt safe again and went back to her room to sleep.
